Sam Armstrong promised in his Kickstarter campaign for “Hello Wizard, I Have a Problem” that anyone who backed the campaign, and went to UK Games Expo, could pick up their zine in person.
Sure enough, this blogger (who regrets not backing the campaign) can confirm Sam and Wizard Problem are both there.
Wizards are easily the most powerful beings in the world. With only a few words and a gesture, we can change the fundamental nature of the world. Sure, sometimes things don’t go exactly as planned. Perhaps the attempt to grow a farmer’s crops permanently shifts the land into a jungle. Maybe the portal intended for the other side of the road leads a little old lady into the fires of hell. There was also that time you accidentally iced a summoning circle on a birthday cake and brought the apocalypse 100 years closer. But deep down, I’m sure people are happy for your help.
Sam Armstrong Games sells via Itch for PDF and Ko-Fi shop for physical. There’s no sign of “Hello Wizard, I Have a Problem” at either store yet but it’s early days.
Amusingly, the problems our heroic wizards might solve for people aren’t necessary sitatuations our civilians would call problems. People might not even know they’ve a problem for a wizard to solve. But! Wizards! Know! Best!
In the zine TTRPG players take turns being GM(ish) and Wizards, solve problems (kinda), score points and then when the session is done, points are added up and someone gets to be crowned Best Wizard.
Sam Armstrong Games also publishes, among others, the rune-based RPG Seer, the hororr Slasher and fantasy .. All Bastard!”.
