Italian publisher Creative Jam Tabletop RPGs is Kickstarting Nightbound, a tabletop RPG about guilt and vengeance.
The line between good and bad is blurred in this Hellblazer-inspired personal hell. The Kickstarter community has backed it, and with a week to go, the game is well over funding targets.
Nightbound is a Powered by the Apocalypse (PBTA) game and so characters have certain moves they can do in response to situations, and most of the complexity comes from interactions and consequences
There’s a free quickstart, without an email wall, with several files available on Google Drive. The free sample includes;
- Nightbound – Quickstart edition
- The Damned Playbook
- The Occultist Playbook
- The Saint Playbook
- The Slayer Playbook
The game is set in a world a bit like ours but where the supernatural is never too far away. PCs know this and have been tainted the darkness that shrouds these secrets.
Here’s a snippet from The Damned playbook.
Your soul is destined for hell. Whether you’ve earned damnation through your actions, sold your soul, or you pulled off an escape from hell, it doesn’t matter anymore. What’s done it’s done. All that matters now is that you’d do anything in your power to redeem your sins. Your situation isn’t entirely negative; your damned soul granted you dark powers that aid you in your crusade. The question is, how will you use them? Only you know the answer.
The digital copy of Nightbound unlocks as a reward for backers at €15, which is about £13. Backers get into add-ons at that tier too.
At €30 backers get the hardcover core rules as well as the PDF. The add-ons expand to include dice, too.
There’s a PDF copy of the playbooks, the scenario books Nightbound by Glaslight, Route 666, Nightbound 1943 and Sengoku no Nightbound plus the dice at €49.
Creative Jam Tabletop RPGs estimate a November 2024 delivery for all the tiers. Potential backers will have to be quick as the campaign concludes on July 8.
