Apple TV+’s Silo is apparently going to get even darker and apparently also a bit wilder, according to its star Rebecca Ferguson – who’s also revealed she’s contracted for four seasons of the show.
The star recently spoke to The Wrap, saying: “Season 2 is dark. It’s a bonkers exciting season. It is huge, man.”
Ferguson already knows the ultimate ending of the series, but we’ll only get to know what happens if the show is actually greenlit for seasons 3 and 4.
Ferguson shared: “We’re now looking at green-lighting seasons 3 and 4. And I think we would film them maybe together, and that would be the end. I believe that the show has an ending, and I know when that is. To be honest, I don’t think it’s a secret.”
Hugh Howey, the author behind the books the series is based on, had previously said of season two: “I’ve seen season two and it’s one of the best things I’ve ever seen.”
Wow – that’s by no means faint praise!
I’m getting quite psyched for this season now, which is saying something as when I first started watching Silo, it was quite a slow burn for me. It was a bit dark, a bit intriguing, has almost a Snowpiercer sort of vibe in that there’s all these mysteries surrounding this massive underground Silo where people live, and what’s on the outside.
The show is based on Howey’s trilogy of dystopian novels, which focuses on the “last ten thousand people on earth, their mile-deep home protecting them from the toxic and deadly world outside. However, no one knows when or why the silo was built and any who try to find out face fatal consequences. After its sheriff breaks a cardinal rule and residents die mysteriously, engineer Juliette “seeks answers about a loved one’s murder and tumbles onto a mystery that goes far deeper than she could have ever imagined, leading her to discover that if the lies don’t kill you, the truth will. She starts to uncover shocking secrets and the truth about the silo.”
Sadly, there’s no release date for season two right now, but maybe Apple will just surprise us and drop it in the next month or two. Please! Please can that happen?!
