Exotic World Designs‘s Transdimensional Adventures – Core Rules sold for $6, but now they’re free.
The original rules came out in 2021 and have been revised since then and cover dimensional travel across worlds. The system’s rules for mutations flex to cope with post-apocalyptic horrors to superheroes or transhuman colonists.
It’s a 248-page download, and the game engine uses a d20+bonuses at its base. Characters can be drawn from six origins;
- Fantasy
- Futuristic
- Modern
- Alien
- Post-apocalyptic
Given that there’s fantasy in the core rules, there are also non-human PC options, but these also flex to better fit superhero and sci-fi. There’s demihuman, robot, mutant and the ability to forge a PC born from two different races. There are also magic rules and separate psionic powers as well.
The large freebie also includes GM advice, world-building tables and a bestiary to help people get going in their game.
