Full Metal Games are an indie TTRPG publisher based in Italy and they’re on Kickstarter with Precious Things.
The game is about saving children’s souls, as toys animated by the spark of creativity come to life to battle an evil which would destroy it. There’s two weeks left on the Kickstarter clock and the funding goal nearly met.
The game uses 2d6, and we’re not told much more. However, we know that as toys fight, they’ll find their motivation testing, and as that ebbs away, they’ll slowly become filled with hatred. Toys that lose this battle with their sense of self they risk becoming horrid parodies of themselves.
Against the toys are creatures known as Grims, nasty entities that seek to corrupt children’s hearts.
Furthermore, this battle happens not only here but also in a realm known as Imagina, which is connected to our world by portals.
It is an indie project, but there are a few turn-offs that might rattle some people; there’s a typo in the video (but English is not Full Metal Games‘ first language), it is a short Kickstarter pitch, and the use of AI is planned.
At night, every child’s favorite toys come to life to protect them from the monsters lurking in the shadows. The toys’ mission is to prevent these monsters from destroying the peace and carefree nature of childhood, without which the young ones become gray souls.
Backers at €7 will get a PDF of the book as a reward.
The €10 tier unlocks a print-on-demand coupon code for supporters, who can purchase the physical book for € 6 plus shipping costs. Depending on where in the world you are, DriveThruRPG’s shipping costs can add up.
Full Metal Games estimates a September 2024 delivery for both the print-on-demand and PDF editions of Precious Things. The Kickstarter concludes on August 1st.
