Spy is a tabletop RPG inspired by movies like Mission Impossible and computer games like Metal Gear Solid. It combines action and espionage.
The Polyhedral Knights, the publisher of the TTRPG, is back on Kickstarter to fund a second edition. You can see progress on Kickstarter.
The PCs in the Spy setting work for an organisation called “The Factory”. The secret group recruits all sorts of people for a wide range of missions.
There’s a nemesis, too, an often recurring foe in the shape of Daedalus, a group of unethical scientists who create and sell evil creations to despots and dangers.
The Daedalus Sourcebook is up for grabs in the Kickstarter too as is are Enemies and Allies Dossier and Mission Book.
As the creator of Spy 2nd Edition, I’m excited to share our journey with you. Since the first edition in 2017, we’ve developed several other games and gained valuable insights. Now, we’re back to Spy, armed with all the cool things we’ve learned. We’ve expanded the Talents, refined the skills, added exciting combat techniques, and updated equipment, making Spy 2nd Edition better than ever.
You can back the indie project by offering cash or spreading the news but those who pledge $9 or more will get a PDF of Spy 2.0 if the Kickstarter is successful.
Backers at $13 will get the physical and digital editions of the TTRPG.
Stepping up to $27 unlocks a digital-only tier, and that includes Spy 2.0, the Daedalus Sourcebook, Enemies and Allies Dossier and The Missions Book.
At $30, the physical edition of Spy 2.0 is added back in which looks like good value.
Physical editions of all the books are rewards for backers who can pledge $58 or more, and The Polyhedral Knights will ship the book worldwide.
There’s an impressive but limited $118 tier which adds many PDFs from the publisher’s back catalogue of other games.
Finally, there’s a $400 tier that also includes an online game session with Spy creator Mickey Barfield.
The Polyhedral Knights estimate a January 2025 delivery for Spy 2nd edition and will run the Kickstarter until August 7th.
