‘Cause my style is ri-dic-dic-diculous-ulous-ulous…
In today’s weirdest news, Michael Bay former Paramount Pictures president Adam Goodman (former president of Paramount Pictures) are said to be developing a film and TV treatment for Skibidi Toilet.
You know Skibidi Toilet, right? That thing all the kids seem obsessed with, that apparently pits toilets (with people’s heads and necks coming out of them) against cyborgs, whilst getting progressively more explosive and unhinged. Yep, it’s really as weird as it sounds.
I’d heard of it for a while, but until I actually looked it up, I didn’t appreciate the utterly bizarre and slightly unsettling nature of Skibidi Toilet.
Goodman recently said in an interview (via Variety): “We are absolutely in talks right now, both on the television side and the earliest conversations right now on the film side. But it’s not a be-all, end-all for us.”
No. Nor should it be. Because this is Skibidi Toilet, Skibidi Skibidi Toilet…
Goodman believes the internet sensation has massive potential, however that “could be the next Transformers or could be a Marvel universe.”
Apparently, Bay is working closely with Skibidi Toilet creator Alexey Gerasimov on content:
I will say that Michael and Jeffrey Beecroft, who’s his longtime production designer and a colleague of his that’s worked with him on all of his movies, have been working very closely with Alexey to really professionalize the kind of back engine of this, to make sure, if we ever decide to go film or television, that this is kind of lifted beyond just the resources that creators have on the internet.
And now I feel like one of those old Anne Rice vampires, who must claim a human to teach them about the world and what it’s turned into, because… because IT’S SKIBIDI TOILET!!!
Are you familiar with Skibidi Toilet, and if so, can you get your head around the fact this might turn into a Marvel-esque universe with TV shows and films? What is the world coming to? Can you explain to me??
