The new owners of the Iron Kingdoms franchise, Steamforged Games have, as promised, taken the Strangelight Workshop TTRPG to Kickstarter. And they’ve met with success.
The new standalone game of occult and weird investigation in the steampunk world will use D&D’s 5e system. You can see progress, with about a week on the clock, on the pitch page.
Steamforged Games suggests the RPG can be played by as few as 2 players and be completed in 120 minutes, both unusual for tabletop roleplaying games.
For the award-winning Iron Kingdoms setting, 500+ pages of paranormal investigation, new and peculiar classes and ancestries, and a new essence system are on offer.
The rules also include a haunting system, more than 70 ‘creature-busting’ spells, new steampunk gear and nightmarish creatures.
Strangelight classes are;
- Bouncer – protector
- Caller – supernatural sensitive
- Investigator – thinker
- Jammer – a ghost puncher
- Strangelight Mechanik – steampunk inventor
- Arcanist – a spell slinger
