Not everyone has the budget, time, or talent to pull off a show-stopping, screen-ready cosplay. But sometimes, a little imagination and a sense of humor are all you need to make an amazingly memorable costume. These costumes are as entertaining as they are hilarious.
Sanrio Fighter
It’s not every day you see a pink Hello Kitty maid Stormtrooper, but if you want to stand out from the crowd, this may be the most unexpected way to do it.
The Deep and Ambrosius
There’s so much to love about this oh-so-wrong The Boys cosplay featuring one of the funniest romances in the entire series —though fans know it end up in tragedy.
You can easily make this look yourself if you’re looking for Halloween costume ideas. Buy the plush here and the costume here.
Sharknado Chic
There have been many Sharknado cosplays over the years, but how many can also be worn to a formal ball? Jen Cosplay 2024 killed it with this one.
The Mountain Dew-Lorian
Who needs beskar when you have Mountain Dew cans. This Mandalorian may not have the strongest armor, but at least he’s hydrated and caffeinated.
Trailer Trash Joker and Harley
How do you make a Joker and Harley cosplay memorable when they’ve been done to death? Give Joker a mullet and Harley beer-can curlers and a raccoon purse. They’re the perfect enemies for a rich boy like Bruce Wayne.
Big Brains are Sexy
The final boss of Baldur’s Gate 3 is anything but sexy —until a SDCC cosplayer decided to pay tribute to this great game villain. She might be right up your alley if you’re into girls with big brains.
Burdened with Glorious Purpose
Lokis can’t stop fighting with themselves. Just ask President Loki, who was battling with Alligator Loki right in the middle of the convention floor. How is he supposed to pass meaningful legislation when his hand is being chewed off?
Jurassic Hazards
Jurassic Park’s 30th anniversary was last year, but strangely, there seemed to be more cosplayers celebrating the classic film this year. Perhaps these were best costumes of the bunch as they also included dino poo and a face covered in dilophosaurus poison.
Not So Scary Now!
How do you keep Chica in check? Apparently, you just need to call the Colonel. Five Nights at Freddie’s is short one villain with this chicken-foe in town. One great thing about these cosplays is neither of them would be that funny on their own, but together, they’re hilarious.
Just Pizza
No, seriously, that’s what this guy said about his costume —and there wasn’t much under his crust either, if you know what I mean.
An Unhappy Meal
Walking around the con for days on end will make anyone hungry, but not so much they’d want to eat that anything offered by Last Meal Cosplay’s evil Ronald.
By the way, you don’t have to be a monster to get your hands on these killer cheeseburger shoes.
Buddy the Elf with His Raccoon
One of the first things that wakes Buddy up to the real world is the rabid raccoon that attacks him when he wants a hug. This Elf’s costume perfectly captures Buddy’s nativity just before the raccoon jumps on his face.
Classic Lara Croft
Only real Tomb Raider fans will appreciate the geometric nature of the original Lara Croft’s chest. This cosplayer may not have been able to render her face in 32-bit glory, but she was able to do it to her figure.
Boob Tube
Did your mom ever tell you that you were too much of a TV head when you were a kid? Perhaps she was worried you’d end up like this.
Tropical Vault Boy
Just because they dropped the bomb doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a chill day at the beach —at least, a simulated beach experience in the Vault. It was easy to get tired of Fallout cosplays this year, but this charming Vault Boy costume was a refreshing change from boring Vault Tec jumpsuits.
You can get many of his accessories for yourself, including the pineapple purse, Vault Boy Hawaiian shirt, and Vault Boy socks.
The Minion Marching Band
These musicians were anything but mellow yellow, even as they were laying on the ground during the quiet part of “Shout.” While they weren’t side-splittingly funny, they certainly brought a smile to those watching the performance.
