At Gen Con, Free League Publishing announced a second edition of the Alien RPG.
The Alien RPG is five years old, first being announced in 2019, although the official tournament launched only last year at UK Games Expo.
The new edition will have;
New core rules
- A new Starter Set
- A new Cinematic Scenario Set
- A new Miniatures Line
There will be a Kickstarter. Furthermore, Free League says Alien RPG 2e will;
Backwards compatible – Refined through years of player feedback, the Second Edition of the ALIEN RPG core rules streamlines and enhances the beloved game system. It introduces fresh artwork, new content, and valuable tools for players and Game Mothers, all while maintaining compatibility with previous releases and materials.
Newbie & Established player friendly – The redesigned ALIEN RPG 2e Starter Set is the ideal entry point for newcomers, offering everything needed for a thrilling game night. It features simplified rules, character sheets, custom dice, reference cards, handouts, and an expanded version of the popular “Hope’s Last Day” scenario, set on Hadley’s Hope just before the iconic events of Aliens.
Keep the deadly Cinematic Play mode – Rapture Protocol, the new cinematic scenario boxed set for the ALIEN RPG, takes players back to the franchise’s origins. Written by Jonathan Hicks and Free League’s Tomas Härenstam, the adventure follows the crew of a small star freighter on a routine resupply mission to a remote industrial colony, where they become entangled in a deadly conflict.
Support skirmish battles – Designed to enhance the cinematic experience of Rapture Protocol, the miniatures set also complements other ALIEN RPG adventures and skirmish battles, bringing your encounters to life with detailed figures.
