Given all those successes, Chamomile Has a Project is approaching 100 Kickstarters and quite a following. However, Scoundrels is a bit different and not a 5e supplement. The game uses its own sci-fi system.
The Kickstarter campaign comes to an end on August 23rd, but it’s met its funding goal, and you can see progress on pitch page.
The Scoundrels sci-fi roleplaying game uses a d6 dice pool that adds stats and skills together and gives characters ‘skill tricks’ as they progress to shape what talents they have.
The rules-light standalone is an RPG about space smugglers, thieves, and bounty hunters. PCs might try to sneak spice cargo under the imperials’ noses or track down spice smugglers for those same imperials.
Characters from the grimy underbelly of the hive city might have to face off against ruthless gangs: the Alloys, cybernetically enhanced criminals; the Undermine Union, desperate miners fighting for survival; and the Dark Enlightenment, an aristocratic cabal delving into forbidden knowledge.
However, if characters are lucky enough to have a ship, then they could navigate the treacherous stars and encounter the Red Eclipse, a powerful spice cartel; the ancient Spice Clans, masters of the black market; and the ever-present threat of the Imperial Authorities.
Backers at $10 will get a PDF copy of Scoundrels as a reward gift.
Those supporters who pay $25 will also get a physical copy of the game.
The tailored rewards start at $50 where, along with the two copies of Scoundrels, backers get a merc based on their character added to the game’s lore. That’s a pirate lord and a whole crew for backers at $100 and a crime lord at $250.
There are add-ons, and the physical copies are slated for October, but the game is already drafted, and the PDF is due out in September.
