Ars Magica is a seminal tabletop RPG that pioneered the troupe-style play, where players collaboratively shape the story and world. It also introduced a unique magic system emphasising storytelling and role-playing over mechanics, making it a landmark in narrative-focused tabletop gaming.
Atlas Games announced a new edition at the start of the year, and the BackerKit-powered prelaunch page is now live.
The campaign will go live on October 15th, and everyone who participates within the first 48 hours will receive a digital version of the manuscript within the week.
The Definitive Edition of Ars Magica 5e is packed with new content released since the original rulebook, making it a temptation for any fan. The full-colour book is filled with brand-new artwork and has fancy gold details on its leather-like cover. The premium slipcover contains everything gamers will likely need to start their adventure: the Core Rulebook, a Storyguide Screen, a handy Reference Guide, and a brand-new poster map of the magical world of Mythic Europe.
Atlas Games says;
While the underlying manuscript is the 5th Edition text, extensive revisions reflect decades of play and incorporate a host of new material published since the original rulebook’s release. Ars Magica 5th Edition Definitive is a much bigger book than the original!
The launch of the pre-launch (we have those now) has gone well, and as of this writing, nearly 3,000 gamers have signed up.
