First-look photos, including one of Scarlett Johansson, from Jurassic World: Rebirth have just been shared by Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment, who also confirmed the previously reported title of the upcoming movie.
The film is currently filming, and these shots feature Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, and Mahershala Ali in a couple of different situations. As far as I can tell, they seem quite consistent with the typical Jurassic World vibe.
So, what’s the film actually about? According to the official description:
An intrepid team racing to secure DNA samples from the three most colossal creatures across land, sea, and air. Five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, the planet’s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs.
Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived. The three most colossal creatures within that tropical biosphere hold the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind.
Johansson is starring as Zora Bennett, “a skilled covert operations expert contracted to lead a team on a top-secret mission to secure genetic material from the world’s three most massive dinosaurs.
“When Zora’s operation intersects with a civilian family whose boating expedition was capsized by marauding aquatic dinos, they all find themselves stranded on an island where they come face-to-face with a sinister, shocking discovery that’s been hidden from the world for decades.”
Interesting. I’m not sure how necessary yet another Jurassic World movie is right now, but I’m always going to watch them (because dinosaurs).
And you’ll be able to watch Jurassic World: Rebirth when it’s released in cinemas on Wednesday, 2nd July 2, 2025.
What do you think of the premise for Jurassic World: Rebirth, based on the details above? Are you optimistic? Will you be watching regardless? Let me know in the comments.
