Chris Vermeren hit the Kickstarter goal on the first try for Terminal State, a Year Zero Engine-powered corporate dystopia in which we already have a cyberpunk life.
The hyper-corps have taken over. Surely this was not supposed to be? You can find the truth on the pitch page.
Characters in Terminal State have dark alleys and digital mindscapes to explore and survive in. Battles happen in the mean streets and executive boardrooms.
There’s a quickstart, and it’s free to download for now, but VX2, Chris’ publishing company, notes that it’s a markdown from the usual $4.99.
This world is an error. A glitch. It has to be. This can’t be the way life was meant to be. It all went wrong somewhere. Probably when we let the hyper-corps take control. Now they control everything we consume. Everything we eat, drink, watch, or buy. They’re even trying to control how we think. Sooner or later, they’ll finish the job.
Unless you stop them.
Gamers can support the game by spreading the word and pledging cash.
Backers who reach the $25 mark will receive the Terminal State core rules, the singles and spreads, and digital rewards.
Those gamers who can afford $55 will also get the 280-page 8.5×11 hardcover. There’s more-or-less global shipping on offer.
The combo core and quickstart edition unlocks at $65 and a retailer package at $75.
$80 unlocks the Kickstarter exclusive collector’s edition, which features a faux carbon fibre cover, gold metallic logo, and circuitry design.
There are higher tiers, such as a $125 “Total package” for both the physical editions and a retailer deluxe.
VX2 estimates delivery on Kickstarter will be in June 2025, and the campaign runs until September 26th.
