Handiwork Games have made the first of their FiveEvil supplements free, and FiveEvil Splinters is out now for download.
FiveEvil, a tabletop roleplaying game, evokes the horror genre through innovative twists on the fifth edition ruleset. It immerses players in modern-day horror, drawing inspiration from the works of Stephen King and chilling, character-driven films like The Ritual, The Descent, and Jacob’s Ladder. The promise if of terror of mini-series like Midnight Mass and the eerie atmosphere of Twin Peaks’ most unsettling episodes.
Rather than seeking out evil in order to vanquish it, or investigating clues to battle malign influence, characters in FiveEvil are regular people trapped in a terrifying situation where fighting isn’t likely to help.
Accompanying the release, designer Morgan Davie unveils the core concepts of this thrilling 5e hack, shares inspiring material, and, most importantly, provides a playable taste of the horror-filled world of FiveEvil.
FiveEvil is expected to hit Kickstarter in time for Halloween. The alert page is live.
