I love TMNT, so of course I jumped at the chance to receive this review sample of the loveable Michelangelo TMNT Holdem! I mean, lookit ‘im; out of all the TMNT Holdems, he has the cheekiest expression. Adorable.
Here’s the official description:
Introducing the Michelangelo TMNT Holdem – a must-have for devoted Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fans and part of the exclusive four collectibles in the TMNT series! Immerse yourself in Michelangelo’s vibrant spirit with its dynamic design, featuring signature orange hues and playful nunchaku-inspired details. This versatile holder ensures a secure fit for your smartphone and earbuds, seamlessly marrying practicality with fan passion
Michelanglo the turtle is of course named after the famous Italian sculptor and painter – so, as an artist myself who had to spend all day in the studio at art college today, I wanted to do things a bit differently and see what else Michelangelo could hold (aside from the usual phones and earbuds).
But first, here’s my boy, and the box he came in. He’s so ready for some action! He stands at approx 4″ tall, but he’s a perfect little package on his own purple stand.
He comes in a very nice box; and I’m a millennial, so I should know! Let’s take a closer look at how detailed and fun the box is, before we even get any further with my pizza-loving compadre.
Holding some Apple AirPods
Okay, let’s get the boring stuff out of the way first. Here’s my boy Michelanglo very demurely holding some Apple AirPods. Bear in mind he’s not that big of a boy, but he IS strong and these were no trouble for him.
However, when it came to him holding my iPhone, the image was mostly of the phone being held in his kind green hands – it completely obscures the view of his face, and that cheeky wink.
Not that he minds, of course – he’s very happy to help!
It is his intended purpose, after all, so I’m pleased to say he more than fulfils the requirements for both phones and earbuds. He looks like an absolute hero holding the weight of your smartphone, actually.
Now, onto the fun stuff!
Holding various art supplies
Can you tell I had fun with this? There’s my dude holding a very nice Pitt Graphite Matt pencil – a 14B! No trouble for this bro.
What about some soft materials, I hear you ask? No problem, he’s got you covered!
How about… an acetate slide?! Abso-frickin-lutely. He looks badass, like he’s smashed a window. What an artful shot! WHAT A PRO.
And, last but not least… how about a big ol’ ruler that looks like a rocket? Oh yeah, he’s totally got this.
Can you use your Michelangelo Holdem to take selfies?
Absolutely you can! Michelangelo is your dependable selfie bro – just beware he’s angled up a little, but I can imagine in some instances that might work in your favour. Here’s a selfie I took with my phone positioned perfectly in Michelangelo’s safe, gentle grip (I had a long day and didn’t have a hairbrush on me, gimmit break).
You can also use your Michelangelo Holdem as your general studio emotional support turtle, and if you need to pose with him for a selfie after a long day, he’s the hero in a half-shell that you need!
I had such a successful day with Michelangelo that he’s now going to stay in the studio full time; caretaker of my belongings and protector of my personals!
And if you’re liking the sound of having your own Michelangelo Holdem (because who wouldn’t), you can pick yours up for just £17.99 from exgpro.com.
Can you tell I had a lot of fun today? (I frickin’ LOVE my job)
What do you think of the Michelangelo TMNT Holdem? Might he also prove a useful hero for your everyday gadgets, art supplies or other fun stuff I haven’t thought of? Let me know in the comments!
