Hear me out – cows would be different in fantasy worlds you’d find in games like Dungeons & Dragons. Why? The bovine herds would surely have to evolve differently to survive, would have been bred differently to suit the needs of different ancestories of farmers and might well been warped by gods and magic.
I sometimes think I’m the only one who spends time pondering this. Perhaps Hunters Entertainment is with me because they’ve been building up the Natural World’s Library of systems-agnostic TTRPG downloads.
The collection holds titles such as Geologist’s Primer and Herbalist’s Primer, and now the new The Mycrologist’s Primer is on the way.
Curious? Hunters hope that the free The Mycologist’s Primer – preview will entice you into a download and make the case for them. As it happens, the Geologist’s Primer also has a free preview.
There’s more than just the Primers, as Hunters has notebooks and even colouring books in the collection. These comprehensive resources delve into the lore and potential applications of plants, gems, metals, fungi, and more, offering a rich tapestry of inspiration for game masters and players alike.
Whether you’re seeking to craft potent alchemical concoctions, enhance magical rituals, or imbue items with mystical properties, these guides provide knowledge applicable to most TTRPG systems. The pitch for each is that they’re a chance to discover the hidden potential of the natural world and weave its magic into your campaigns.
