Skin City is the last corner of humanity, and outside the walls in the horrific landscape, there’s a cult of animated skeletons trying to infiltrate the city.
In the Skin City TTRPG, players are animated skeletons wrapped in meat suits. You can join the cult on Kickstarter.
Too much damage to PCs’ skin will split their meat suits, spraying blood and gore everywhere and exposing the skeleton and their supernatural powers beneath.
Skin City is a tabletop roleplaying game designed for one-shots and based on Into the Odd, a rules-light system created by Chris McDowall.
Cannon Otter Studio’s project will fund a standalone rulebook with;
- How to play as one of the defleshed cultists
- Character creation
- Bestiary
- Skin City survival tips
- Random mission table
There’s no AI art in the project; instead, Cannon Otter Studios have turned to the skeletons of actual human artists to use historical pieces of Creative Commons art alongside new pieces.
You can support the skeleton cult by sharing news of Skin City across your socials. Those with $15 to pledge will unlock a PDF copy of the game and the digital stretch goals.
Backers who can increase to $20 get a print-on-demand coupon and related physical stretch goals.
There’s a higher but limited tier set at $100, which adds the digital GM screen and a physical copy of the book with a custom doodle by one of the artists.
At $150, Cannon Otter Studios is offering an online games session for you and four friends. At $200, there’s the game session and the doodle-enhanced copy of Skin City.
The Kickstarter for Skin City runs until Friday 1st of November, so the game might well see a surge of Halloween interest and the regular editions, print or POD, are slated for April 2025.
