Today we’ve got a first look at new ALIEN: Romulus content to be included in Free League’s upcoming “Evolved Edition” of ALIEN: The Roleplaying Game – due out next year.
The new core rulebook is set to include spacecraft, gear and locations from the hit film. Described as a “faithful evolution”, hopefully this will be a welcome new edition of the popular ALIEN RPG fans already know and love.
Players can also look forward to an updated Starter Set, a new Cinematic scenario boxed set called Rapture Protocol, and a Miniatures Set. Everything in the new edition will be compatible with the existing game material, and new edition expansions can be played with the first edition rules.
The launch date for the Kickstarter has also been moved to spring 2025 to allow Free League to take onboard more input from its community, straight to the games table.
According the official press release:
Working in collaboration with 20th Century Studios, Free League can now welcome players back to Jackson’s Star all on their own with a host of new gaming resources, including an in-depth exploration of the mining colony, the new F44AA Pulse Rifle, and the USCSS Corbelan IV mining hauler spacecraft. Today’s preview included a new pulse rifle illustration from John Mullaney and official artwork of Jackson’s Star from Col Price, one of the concept artists who designed the unforgettable colony seen on screen.
Here are some ‘first look’ images from the game to give you a better idea of what to expect.
The official release of ALIEN: The Roleplaying Game Evolved Edition is still Autumn 2025, with the new Core Rulebook debuting alongside the other expected releases – all via the upcoming Kickstarter.
