The haunting animation took Caleb a year; who directed, wrote and animated in Blender. The music is by Yusi Liu and, how is this for style, the final theme is played by the Czech National Symphony Orchestra!
A ghost is sent on a quest by Death. On the way to the ghost’s mysterious final destination, there’s a black feline friend to make things… a bit easier?
Under the Thicket, I suggest, is the perfect Halloween season watch because it beautifully blends spooky themes with heartwarming elements. The ghost’s journey managed to be both eerie and comforting. The autumnal setting, with falling leaves and a sense of melancholy, further enhances the seasonal atmosphere. While dealing with themes of loss and the afterlife, the short also explores friendship and acceptance, making it a poignant and ultimately uplifting watch for the spooky season.
