Terry Pratchett’s Discworld RPG: Adventures in Ankh-Morpork is a flying (turtle) success with nearly 10,000 backers and more than £1,300,000 in pledges.
The campaign runs until November 7th. Modiphius has announced that it has made some changes, reworking pledge tiers so that the £40 and £50 pledges, including PDF stretch goals and higher levels, get more physical goodies. You can see progress on the pitch page.
You don’t need to be a backer to read the changes made, including The Guilds, The Lesser Known Streets, Anthropomorphic Personifications, The Hogswatch Adventure, The Bad Old Days in PDF and all future PDF goals.
Terry Pratchett’s Discworld RPG: Adventures in Ankh-Morpork uses a new system, not Modiphius’s 2d20, although two dice are used here. In the Narrativium system, a player rolls one dice and has to beat the GM rolling their d7A. (A d8).
There’s a free Discworld quickstart (via DTRPG) out showcasing these rules.
Arkhane Asylum is also crowdfunding a French game edition.
This campaign will fund the publication of rulebooks and accessories for a new edition of a Discworld tabletop roleplaying game. Knowing we wanted to remain true to the look and feel we most recognise, the campaign features a new, original, Collector’s Edition* cover by Paul Kidby, who worked closely with Sir Terry to develop the unique illustrative style for Discworld. Neither Kickstarter Core Rulebook will be available in retail, and are exclusive to this crowdfunding campaign and Modiphius.
Backers can support the million-dollar success with just £1, and that gets news and updates plus optional add-on enhancements like dice and tokens or RPG books.
At £40, which is about to get its 1000th backer, the reward tier offers the core Discworld RPG rules, the GM Toolkit, Tales from the Big Wahoonie and PDF stretch goals.
At £50, the physical core rules, PDF and Octarine Dice are added. More than a thousand supporters can be found frolicking here.
The Collector’s Edition Discworld Core Rules places the physical core rules at £80.
The £100 tier also offers the Gamemaster’s Toolkit and Tales from the Big Wahoonie as physical things but drops the Collector’s Edition. That’s added back in at £130.
Those supporters who can leap up to £300, as 1300 have so far, get both editions of the core rules, the “Death’s Tray of Holding” dice tray, Paul Kidby cover art and physical stretch goals, too.
The physical deliveries are slated for August next year, and the PDFs are a bit earlier in June.
