The Dracula Dossier, a series of tabletop roleplaying game supplements funded through a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2014, offers a unique and improvisational approach to horror-espionage gaming.
The campaign is inspired by the award-winning Armitage Files for Trail of Cthulhu, highlighting the importance of player agency and the Director’s improvisation. Players use Dracula Unredacted, a specially annotated version of the original novel, to uncover clues and follow leads. This approach results in a highly replayable experience, as the choices made by each group shape the unfolding narrative.
The Dracula Dossier offers Gamemasters (referred to as “Directors”) a wide range of tools and techniques to create engaging scenarios that respond to players’ actions. This collaborative storytelling approach ensures that each game experience is unique and unpredictable. Players are invited to explore a world filled with espionage and supernatural horror, where the boundaries between fiction and reality become indistinct.
