King of procrastination George R.R. Martin has seemingly been busy working on just about everything apart from Winds of Winter, and now he’s teasing a new mystery project featuring Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams.
The Game of Thrones creator has been working on various new stories set in the Westeros universe for HBO and Max, including the upcoming show A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, along with Big Dragon House (House of the Dragon to anyone unused to my writing).
There are also several other projects in development, some of which may never see the (green) light of day.
The author recently took to his blog to say: “We also got together with Maisie Williams for pizza and pasta, and talked about… well, no, better not get into that, do not want to jinx it. But it could be so much fun.”
Well, you know where my mind first went with this? It went to the fan suggestion I once read around the end of Game of Thrones, where someone pitched a show called ‘West of Westeros’, where Arya Stark goes on the wild adventure she famously talks about on GoT.
I would absolutely, 100% be excited if that were the case. It’s certainly something I’d put on my list ahead of some of the other projects that have already been greenlit, to be honest.
What do you think of the latest news from George R.R. Martin? Are you excited about this news, or would you rather he just got on with Winds of Winter? Let me know in the comments.
