Today we’re in for a real feast for the eyes, by way of sharing a first look at some gorgeous new art from power team Legendary Comics and Karloff Enterprises – a new Frankenstein graphic novel titled Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein Starring Boris Karloff, to be exact.
It seems like it’s a faithful, yet fresh retelling of Shelley’s story that sees the award-winning creative team of Kerry Gammill and El Garing (best known for the RONDO Award-winning Bram Stoker’s Dracula Starring Bela Lugosi) showcasing their immense storytelling and artistic talent to another classic tale.
Decades before the works of Edgar Allan Poe, Jules Verne, and H.G. Wells, 18-year-old Mary Shelley wrote what many regard as the first work of science fiction when she penned FRANKENSTEIN: or, the MODERN PROMETHEUS, which was published in 1818.
Over one hundred years later, in 1931, a hard-working but relatively unknown actor named Boris Karloff was cast to play Frankenstein’s monster in James Whale’s now classic movie adaptation. The film made Karloff a star and solidified Frankenstein’s monster as an icon of the silver screen.
Take a peek at the stunning preview art below – it’s really rather something! And the book itself is available to order right now on Amazon.
