A new trailer has just dropped for a wondrous looking film called The Penguin Lessons, starring Steve Coogan as a charming middle class, middle-aged white man who accidentally adopts a penguin.
Based on Penguin Random House‘s bestselling book by Tom Michell, The Penguin Lessons follows “a disillusioned Englishman who went to work in a school in Argentina in 1976.”
Expecting an easy ride, he instead discovered a much more complicated & divided nation – and a class of practically unteachable young boys. However, when he finds a small penguin washed up on an oil slicked beach, his life is turned upside down – and the penguin becomes not only a valued friend, but also a teacher of life’s most important lessons, for Tom, the boys and, in fact, everyone he meets.
The Penguin Lessons is directed by Peter Cattaneo (The Full Monty, Lucky Break), and the cast also includes Björn Gustafsson, David Herrero, Jonathan Pryce, Vivian El Jaber, Aimar Miranda, Micaela Breque, Tomas Pozzi, and Ramiro Blas.
The Penguin Lessons will be released in UK cinemas on 18th April, 2025 (with no scheduled US release date yet).
