Switzerland-based Aradia Miniatures are close to funding Kali Yuga, a set of minis based on Hindu myths.
The models come in two sizes: 75mm to suit painters and collectors and 32mm for battle map models. Pleasing the latter, there are 5e rules for the characters that come with the campaign. The campaign runs until the 19th December.
It’s always a risk crowdfunding to produce fantasy rules from a living religion, but Aradia Miniatures insist;
The adventure respects the beliefs and religiosity of the Hindu tradition and was edited by a philosopher with expertise in Indology.
Mila Fois has written an accompanying book on Hindu myths.
Notably, the 5 player character minis are available in STL and resin, while the others are exclusively resin.
Hindu mythology is among the richest and most ancient in existence, its protagonists are many: Brahma, Shiva, Vishnu, Kali and countless others. The legends peopled by demons, gods, heroes and holy men have surprising twists and turns, capable of astonishing us even today with their freshness and vividness. Enlightened Buddhist thought originates from here, in fact Buddha, for some currents of Buddhism, is considered one of the incarnations of the god Vishnu.
Backers at CHF3 (about £3) get access to add-ons; at CHF10, there are add-ons and the “Hindu Myths” book by Milas Fois.
CHF14 backers get one STL file, CHF18 supporters get the resin Ganapati, and the whole Bharata Heroes STL set for CHF48.
One 75mm figure except Ganesh unlocks at CHF51, Ganesh or Garudara at CHF58 and three figures of your choice at CHF150.
CHF210 is the next level up, and is about the same as £187. That unlocks four 75mm, the 5e adventure PDF and the Ganpati.
Except for some early bird deals, the top tier is CHF250, which gets 4 of the 75mm, the 5e adventure, five playing characters and Ganapati.
Delivery is slated for March 2025 for the STLs and June for the resins.
