As we reported back in 2020, French board game company Monolith landed the Batman RPG license.
You can now download the 47-page Batman RPG quickstart for free.
The quickstart offers simplified rules and a free adventure. That’s a risk because if the simplified rules don’t impress gamers, that disappointment might harm sales of the yet-to-be-released RPG. The pledge manager for the crowdfunded game is still open if you want to be among the first to get it.
The RPG was part of the campaign for season 3 of the board game. I suggest this was a bold move, as many TTRPGers who might not be interested in the board game might have missed it.
Batman Gotham City Chronicles casts characters as a new generation of heroes, suggesting Batman is a background character.
Gotham City… Over time, this name has become synonymous with crime and darkness. But it also represents a form of hope, as the city now has a guardian watching over it, tirelessly fighting its most spectacular threats. But can one man clean up this much filth on his own?
Maybe it is time for Gotham City to welcome a new generation of Heroes. Perhaps courageous souls, police officers, vigilantes, or even simple citizens should take up the torch and strive to protect the city from the outrageous thugs who are threatening it. The PDF and a French edition were added to DriveThruRPG on the 13th. Author credits include Nicolas Texier, Olivier Caïra, François Verstraete, François Stricher, Alex Nikolavitch and Xavier Fournier. Monolith has not yet used DTRPG’s system to disclose whether any AI was used in the creation of the game.
