Given that recent seasons of Stranger Things have both alien invasions from supernatural realms and the tension of the Cold War the official Stranger Things Risk board game feels on the nose!
Risk is a classic game of global domination! There are dice rolls, conquering territories, forging alliances (and betraying them!), and aiming for world domination. But did you know it was originally a French invention? Released in 1957 as “La Conquête du Monde,” it’s come a long way with different editions and even video game versions.
In the Stranger Things Risk, Vecna has escaped, growing stronger and taking over Hawkins. There are four groups now, each with the goal of stopping Vecna from getting to Creel House, and you can play the kids as one or one of the military forces if you prefer. So, yeah, we don’t have the Hawkins’ kids invading France in this one.
It’s been a while since I played. Still, I imagine the usual tactics of grabbing whole but easily defendable continents/areas, then moving on to fortifying borders and then concentrating forces to be powerfully opportunistic when it suits you will apply.
Stranger Things 5
Filming has wrapped on Stranger Things 5 but we dont’ have a release date. Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin), Will (Noah Schnapp), Max (Sadie Sink), Steve (Joe Keery), Nancy (Natalia Dyer), Jonathan (Charlie Heaton), Robin (Maya Hawke), and Hopper (David Harbour) and are all set to return.
We expecting Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) to be back and likely an appropriately big part of the drama!
