How about a mythic ancient Greek setting written by an actual Greek TTRPG publisher? Black Lantern Productions is such a company, and Immortals: Hubris & Glory is their new and dark setting for 5e.
Kickstarter has rewarded the Make 100 campaign, a project Project We Love, and the opening moments of the Immortals: Hubris & Glory has smashed targets. You can see the action on the crowdfunding page.
You can download the quickstart for free from DriveThruRPG or by swapping your email address at Black Lantern’s website.
We hope to speak to Black Lantern about the project in more detail later, but the pitch page presents a setting of horror and myth together. There are Titans to fight as PCs defend Olympus… unless, of course, the PCs take a different route and go their own path, which might be siding with the Titans.
The game introduces a new magic system to 5e, Underworld, a Hubris & Glory system and rules for sea adventuring.
Backers at €20 get the core rules in digital form and access to the pledge manager.
Immortals: Hubris & Glory will fund three books (Corebook, Hades and Descendants of Chaos), and at €40, backers get them all as PDFs.
€48 is the first tier to offer a physical book as a reward. Backers get the hardcover of Immortals: Hubris & Glory and a PDF copy at this level.
There’s a €55 Starter Set Box tier. It’s an interesting move having the Starter Set in the Kickstarter, probably wise, and this one contains a 46-page softcover with basic rules, characters (with sheets), an adventure The Fate Melibea and the Immortals dice.
Hero €110, the Corebook, Hades and Descendants of Chaos books are delivered in an artistic slipcase. The €150 upgrade takes this and adds the Immortals GM Screen, Immortals d20 dice set and a map of Mythic Greece.
The tiers after this are all limited in number. The “300 Spartans” level costs €180 and adds a Collector’s Edition Wooden Slipcsae, which feels pretty epic to me. Then, limited to 100, there’s the €200 where that wooden box is numbered.
Lastly, the €480 tier, limited to only 20 people, adds in Magic & Scatter Dice, a Wooden Dice Case, a Wooden Dice Case and the Immortals Starter Set Box.
Immortals: Hubris & Glory runs on Kickstarter until March 1st and Black Lantern Productions estimates it’ll ship midway through April 2026.
