Today we’ve got a visual treat for you – if you like pretty colours combined with horror and a bit of gore, that is – in the form of the first trailer for Shudder‘s upcoming sci-fi horror Ash.
Ash stars Eiza González and Aaron Paul, two people in space who find themselves in a crisis situation with the rest of their crew dead… but how?
Here’s the official description:
On the mysterious planet of Ash, Riya (González) awakens to find her crew slaughtered. When a man named Brion (Paul) arrives to rescue her, an ordeal of psychological and physical terror ensues while Riya and Brion must decide if they can trust one another to survive.
It definitely seems like an intense watch, and it’s also setting off all of my joy tinglies with the sheer visual strength of the trailer. Pretty coloured lights, sci-fi themed visuals, strong horror and gore… yep, this is definitely a film for me.
Here’s what Gonzalez had to say about the ambience of the film:
Music gives you an ambiance. It definitely sets you up. So having this specific movie and his specific music being made at the same time was so incredibly helpful. Even little details he gave us, like, ‘I want such-and-such instrument predominantly throughout the movie,’ gave us a completely different vibe, especially for me and Aaron.
We have a lot of scenes together, and our dynamic is super intense and crucial in the film, so it really made a gigantic difference.
Hmmm, okay. I’m intrigued, and a bit excited for this. Check out the trailer below:
Welp. This is probably one of the first Shudder movies to be released that I’ve immediately got really excited about (or maybe I’ve just not been paying enough attention to Shudder – either way, this is definitely going on my list).
And you’ll be able to watch Ash when it’s released in cinemas on 21st March.
