Edinburgh’s Tanya Floaker has a new Kickstarter project, and it was funded on day one. Mum Chums is a slice-of-life RPG about people who care for kids.
The campaign will run until February 15th, the day after Valentine’s Day, and don’t know if that’s a coincidence. You can find out more on the pitch page.

Tanya creates games from their queer anarchist communist perspective and is known for always keeping the digital files of games free. So, after the crowdfunding for Mum Chums, unlimited community copies in PDF will be available. For now, the quickest way to get a copy is to become a backer.
Don’t want to wait? There’s a free demo available now, but not in the final layout.
In the game, PCs are adult carers of children about to start school, and it is about exploring the situations this might create with emotional honesty. Realism is the key because dealing with kids can be difficult.
It’s best played with a cuppa.
Tanya says;
For parents and carers, Mum Chums offers a cathartic experience. For everyone else, it provides a space to examine experiences you may not have had. In either case, it is perfect for people who love to dive deep into an emotionally complex role-play experience.

Backers with a financial challenge who still want to support Mum Chums can do so with a £1 pledge. Even at this level, digital files will be used as a reward.
At £10, the digital files are the reward.
Tanya will be printing Mum Chums, and backers at £25 will get a copy along with the PDF.
Do you need an indie TTRPG-branded tea mug? There’s a £35 tier, limited to only 20 people, with the physical book, the digital files, all stretch goals and a Cuppa Scene Mug as a reward.
Tanya Floaker estimates Mum Chums will ship in November 2025.
