Project K is the codename or project title for Riot Games’ League of Legends trading card game. We’re told a final name is still being decided, but we know the game is coming to English-speaking territories.
In China, the game is known already and called 符文战场 (Rune Battlegrounds).

Now, in conjunction with UniVersus CCG publisher UVS, Riot Games will bring Project K to some English-speaking countries in 2025. I hope one of those countries is the UK. Could one be the USA? I imagine Riot faces the same uncertainties as everyone else when shipping to America.
Additional regions are planned for 2026.
We also know that the first series in the game to hit these selected English-speaking countries will be Shining Soul.
Riot says that card design and gameplay mechanics are still being worked on in addition to the English name. That doesn’t sound like Project K will be launching in Q1, but that’s just speculation.
The new partners, UVS Games, have plenty of experience with UniVersus as it’s one of the longest-running collectable tabletop games that are still going.
In a press release, Dave Guskin, Game Director at Riot Games, told the press;
Finding the right partner to bring Project K to players worldwide was crucial—we needed experts who shared our vision for what this game could become. UVS brings just that, deep industry expertise and a strong understanding of global TCG communities. With their support, we’re confident we can create an incredible player experience for fans of card games and League of Legends alike.”
League of Legends is trendy right now, in part due to the success of Netflix’s Arcane series, which even had Bronwen model the Black Milk x Arcane tattoo dress.
