Miss Comixology? Sweet aims to fill that void and has signed Image.

Sweet’s “notice me” feature is vertical scrolling with both right-to-left and left-to-right to support manga. There will be in-app purchases to avoid a subscription fee, reading lists, reviews, wishlists, offline reading, DRM-free backups and all this worldwide.
Sweet also says they’ll have a retailer affiliate program. Geek Native certainly would be interested in a publisher affiliate program.
The Image deal brings about 400 bestselling and creator-owned comics to the ‘sweet shop’.
Lorelei Bunjes, VP of Digital Strategy at Image Comics, told the press;
We’re always looking for great ways to get our comics into readers’ hands, and Sweet Shop is shaping up to be an exciting new option. We’re thrilled to have so many incredible creator-owned titles available at launch.”
Kenny Meyers, owner of Sweet, noted;
Image Comics publishes some of the absolute best comics in the business, with a model that is wonderful to creators. We are huge fans of the work they do, and couldn’t be more excited to release their titles for purchase day and date around the globe.”
Sweet isn’t out yet but is expected to arrive for iOS and Android this year. Other titles in the store include Invincible and Exquisite Corpses.
