Bronwen was lucky enough to be sent a sample tee from The Spark Company, for professional review purposes. Here’s how she got on.
I was absolutely delighted when I was offered a t-shirt to try from The Spark Company. Of course, I had to choose this fabulous ‘they can’t burn us all’ tee. Upon my request, the shirt was freshly printed and dispatched in no time – with full tracking. Incredible!
First impressions
My first impressions when unpacking my tee was that it’s made from incredibly soft, high-quality cotton material, which felt like it was going to be a comfy wear. The design on the tee itself looks great, and like it will hopefully last more than a few washes, too.
Above is my tee, pictured with Carl the skull kettlebell, who’s there to set the tone for the rest of this review. Because I needed a new top for the gym, I decided this would be the perfect way to test out my beautiful tee.
Trying it on for size
Time to try it on! I’m around a UK size 8, and ordered the size XS. When it came to the moment of truth, it turned out to be a perfect fit – excellent!
Having been inspired by looking at all the fun photos of The Spark Company models showing off these tees, I decided for the first time in my life to try a side knot.
It turns out I like side knots! I think the look works really well with my grey leopard print gym leggings, and my fox sox.
I was really pleased with this look, and couldn’t wait to hit the gym!
Writer note: Considering how cute this tee looks with the side knot, I’m actually tempted to just wear this lounging around, or working in the college studios. I don’t see it as *specifically* for the gym! I look forward to wearing it in all sorts of situations.
Hitting the gym in my tee
One thing I really noticed in this tee, with the side knot, was extra body confidence. The second thing I noticed was the approving looks from fellow gym goers!
The tee was so very comfortable to work out in, and I felt really good in it. It even got me the odd compliment!
I’d call that a win.
The final test! Group cycle class
I like booking myself into a group cycle class on a Sunday – it’s basically spin class, led on by a high-energy instructor with like-minded gym goers who want to really push themselves.
I had a great time in this tee; despite getting hot and sweaty, the most important thing of all is that I was comfy right through to the end of class.
This was never going to be a given, as it’s a class where we’re really pushed to our limits, and getting hot and sweaty is just par for the course.
I didn’t ever feel like wearing the t-shirt was too much for me, and I’d feel confident wearing it to future classes.
To sum it up…
This is an incredibly stylish, comfortable, well-made tee that I’m delighted to add to my wardrobe. Although I chose to really test it out at the gym, I’m probably going to wear this whilst just generally being a badass in my day-to-day life. It adds a bit of attitude, and gets me compliments, too!
