Oni Press and Magnetic Press, both part of David Steward II‘s Polarity media company, have announced a new strategic partnership. This will see Oni Press take over the distribution of Magnetic Press’s catalogue, including graphic novels, art books, and tabletop games.
Magnetic Press’s award-winning titles will now be available through Oni Press’s established distribution network, which includes Simon & Schuster for bookshops and Diamond Comics and Lunar Distribution for comic shops.
What does this mean for RPG fans?
Magnetic Press has been making moves in the RPG world with titles like the Planet of the Apes Roleplaying Game. This new distribution agreement should make these games, and any future RPG releases, more readily available.
Oni Press will handle the distribution of Magnetic Press’s titles.
- Magnetic Press will maintain its creative and editorial independence, with Mike Kennedy continuing to lead the company from Chicago.
- New titles from Magnetic Press, starting in Autumn 2025, will be co-branded with both the Oni Press and Magnetic Press logos.
- Oni Press will provide additional marketing, sales, and manufacturing support for Magnetic Press releases.
