Excuse me for being a bit of a grump. I’ve not been very cheerful about the Minecraft Movie merchandise. It started when Bronwen and I both noticed the McDonald’s Minecraft team-up. I was then disappointed by the reveal. It felt like a missed opportunity to create something truly special and reflective of the game’s creativity.

Just in time for the Minecraft movie’s April 4th release, EXG Pro has revealed a stunning new collection of officially licensed device holders! These aren’t your average phone stands; they cleverly blend functionality with the charm of your favourite Minecraft characters. Finally, some movie merch worth getting excited about!
The collection features everything from full-sized Cable Guys, perfect for displaying your controllers, to compact Holdems, which are ideal for phones, earbuds, and even amiibo. Each piece infuses your gaming space with that unmistakable Minecraft charm – think pixel-perfect details and vibrant colours that bring the blocky world to life. This is a massive leap forward in design and desirability compared to previous Minecraft movie merchandise.

I have two clear favourites. Firstly, I like the idea of the Creeper Cable Guy because it is dangerously close to your tech. It’s a fun, slightly subversive take on the character. Secondly, the Enderman Cable Guy and phone stand for the very same reason. Who wouldn’t want to balance their iPhone on a block of TNT? The Enderman’s design, with its elongated limbs and mysterious aura, lends itself well to this kind of functional collectable.
Smartly sculpted and radiating pure Minecraft, each EXG Pro figure celebrates the game’s cinematic debut with practical flair. They’re equally at home on a desk or shelf, adding a touch of blocky brilliance to any space.
It’s a relief to see some genuinely appealing merchandise emerge. I still have my Sackboy Holdems, and these Minecraft ones seem to be of similar quality and design ethos.
