As we prepare for The Last of Us returning to our screens for a second season, showrunner Craig Mazin has been dropping little crumbs of excitement regarding what’s coming in season 2 – and that’s apparently scarier infected.
That’s right; the infected are evolving, and getting more and more horrific and dangerous. What does that mean for our characters?
Mazin recently shared with GamesRadar+:
I think we can say that we are dedicated to the idea that just as humanity is progressing and [Jackson] is getting bigger and they’re bringing people in, the infected are also evolving.
So we’re certainly going to see quite a few changes along the way to impress upon our characters. Oh, do you think you’ve figured it out, you think you’re good at handling the infected?
The Rat King is something that anybody who has played The Last of Us Part 2 is traumatized by for so many reasons, count myself among them.
I feel like the Rat King, one of the most infamous and terrifying enemies from the sequel, will be a big draw for the series. If you haven’t played the game, I should probably clarify that the Rat King is, in fact, not a massive infected rat, but a monstrous being fused out of various infected. NOT a massive Splinter!
And now it’s confirmed, there’s definitely some more excitement building over the upcoming season two, set to premier on 13th April on HBO and Max.
