We’re starting to see some CinemaCon trailer drops make their way into the public sphere, and one of those is Disney‘s Tron: Ares.
Going by this trailer, the film promises to be visually stunning, and a real treat for fans of the franchise – only this time, the digital world is invading the REAL WORLD. Oh, and it’s also got music from Nine Inch Nails. How cool is that?
The story centres on highly sophisticated program known as Ares, “who is sent from the digital world into the real world on a dangerous mission, marking humankind’s first encounter with A.I. beings.”
According to director Joachim Rønning:
With Nine Inch Nails making the music, this instalment will be a little grittier, a little bit more industrial. It’s been important for me to contrast The Grid and the real world. In that sense, Nine Inch Nails lends itself perfectly into this new Tron world that we are creating.
What I always look for in any story is a strong emotional core. This film will probably be more emotional than people are expecting. It’s about the cost of being human.

Starring in the film, we have Jared Leto, Cameron Monaghan, Evan Peters, Greta Lee, Jodie Turner-Smith, Greta Lee, Hasan Minhaj, Arturo Castro, and Gillian Anderson – with Jeff Bridges also making a return to the Tron universe!
And you’ll be able to watch Tron: Ares when it’s released in cinemas on 10th October.
