Today we’ve got a treat for Predator fans, by way of the first trailer for Dan Trachtenberg’s new animated Predator three-part anthology entitled Predator: Killer of Killers. It’s also the director’s second Predator project; he’s also been making Predator: Badlands.
Predator: Killer of Killers focuses on Yautja warriors as they hunt down human prey through world history, and will be released exclusively on Hulu on 6th June, 2025.
Here’s the official description:
The anthology story follows three of the fiercest warriors in human history: a Viking raider guiding her young son on a bloody quest for revenge, a ninja in feudal Japan who turns against his Samurai brother in a brutal battle for succession, and a WWII pilot who takes to the sky to investigate an otherworldly threat to the Allied cause. But while all these warriors are killers in their own right, they are merely prey for their new opponent – the ultimate killer of killers.
Sounds fairly awesome, doesn’t it? Watch the full trailer below:
I’m a fan of the animation style, which is a bit reminiscent of the likes of Arcane and The Wild Robot – let’s hope the story is just as good!
Amongst those voicing the characters, we have Lindsay LaVanchy, Louis Ozawa, Rick Gonzalez, and Michael Biehn.
Amazingly, Trachtenberg was co-directing Predator: Killer of Killers with Josh Wassung whilst he was on location for Predator: Badlands. Here’s what he said about that:
We were writing the script for [Killer of Killers] while we were prevising stuff on [Badlands], and then [once on location] in New Zealand, on the way to shoot [Badlands], we would remote with everyone back here and [watch footage] thanks to Starlink.
Now, you may be thinking why anyone would want to make two films at the same time. Luckily, someone asked him that, too. Trachtenberg’s reply: “This all was like a game of hopscotch… That was dumb. I hope I don’t do it again.”
Welp. I won’t argue, but I do hope it turns out well!
