Set in a biopunk world, Between Clouds is a roleplaying game utilising the Year Zero rules system. The premise involves a group of characters described as a “found Family,” navigating the open skies of Empyrea on a large flying creature. Above the planet’s surface, floating settlements known as Cradles hunt giant, gravity-defying creatures called Kirin to use their hearts as power sources. Certain individuals can form bonds with Kirin, granting them unique powers. Player characters travel the Nine Skies region, engaging in adventures that involve helping others and protecting wild Kirin from human and robotic antagonists.
