A new 28 Years Later trailer has just dropped from Sony Pictures, and it’s the best look we’ve had at the film – and the full extent of the undead rage-infected mess – yet.
I’ve got to say, it’s looking more and more like the dude in the field is a surprisingly standout, because every time something about the film comes out, there he is, looking undead AF. This particular zombie, who actually sparked a rumour this was what had become of Cillian Murphy‘s character Jim in the film, is actually newcomer Angus Neill. I see a bright future for Neill!
Here’s the official synopsis for the film, to refresh our memories:
It’s been almost three decades since the rage virus escaped a biological weapons laboratory, and now, still in a ruthlessly enforced quarantine, some have found ways to exist amidst the infected. One such group of survivors lives on a small island connected to the mainland by a single, heavily-defended causeway. When one of the group leaves the island on a mission into the dark heart of the mainland, he discovers secrets, wonders, and horrors that have mutated not only the infected but other survivors as well. Shot on an iPhone 15 Pro Max with the aide of numerous specialised attachments. Cillian Murphy returns as Jim, with Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jodie Comer, Jack O’Connell, Erin Kellyman, and Ralph Fiennes.
Written by Alex Garland, and directed by Danny Boyle, the film is the first in a 28 Years Later trilogy, with the first two movies already shot (on an iPhone 15 Pro Max with additional attachments, no less).
Cillian Murphy will be reprising his role as Jim, but I’ll save you looking for him in the below trailer because he won’t actually appear in this first time. Boooo! (He is executive producer, though)

Well, that’s quite a trailer! Seems like the world is still in a bit of a state almost 30 years on from the first outbreak of the rage virus.
And you’ll be able to watch 28 Years Later when it’s released in cinemas on 20th June.
