We’ve been hearing a bit about a secret “Project Ninja” with blogs speculating what it might be about. At the end of last year Geek Native published the first set of character illustrations and noticed how much like Naruto and Bleach they were.
Now we know the truth. Project Ninja will be an anime MMO. It’s due out for the first quarter of 2011 (well, the press release says Q1 2010 but I think they mean 2011) and it’ll be from NGames (perhaps best known for Game321.com).
The news comes with more art work – the characters are now in 3D but they’re still very much Naruto and Bleach in style. This blogger can only assume Game321 has the license to use the likeness of these characters. As if to underline that “something” is going on some of the artwork depicts the Project Ninja characters as “model sized” and in one instance standing in front of an actual Naruto figurine.
