Geek Native first wrote about Project Space Planes back in October 2010. Back then Samsung had the plan of collecting messages on to SD cards, sticking them on paper planes and then dropping those planes from space. The goal? Show how robust the Samsung memory cards are by letting people find the planes and cards and checking out the messages.
This post brings you the fresh and rather scary update from Samsung and the Project Space Planes team. Yeah. I think this is terrifying. This video really sets of my vertigo. I watch clutching the edge of my desk as I watched it.
Am I being a wuss? Is this not terrifying and exciting at the same time? If you actually manage to find one of the planes with the SD card inside then there’s a found it page you can use to have Samsung get in touch with you. Given how high the balloon got I imagine some of the planes have gone very far indeed!
