Sony have released details of the PSP 2. Right now it’s called NGP – Next Generation something or other – but I think the assumption is that’s the project name and the device will wind up being called the PSP 2. Perhaps it’ll be called the PSP 2 by everyone apart from Sony.
The news of the NGP wasn’t even covered by Geek Native. I think there were some shrugs and some comments of “Yeah, that’s nice… when is the PlayStation Android phone coming out?”
The battle between the 3Ds and NGP will be interesting but I didn’t imagine I’d buy either. My original PSP sits, collecting dust, after just a few uses. It’s too big to travel and too small to win my attention from the PlayStation 3 when I’m not travelling.
Imagine how surprised I was when I found myself rather liking the look of the device in one of the first trailers for it. Have I gone soft? Check it out for yourself.
So, what do you think? Is the mix between touch and button controls interesting? Surely the graphics look nothing less than impressive? Might the online abilities help save it from PSP stagnation?
