There have been rumours of a PlayStation phone for a while now. Not just rumours but very real demand. Heck. I seriously wonder whether my next phone will be the joyous union of a) internet access and b) gaming.
All the speculation was that it would be an Android phone. All the smart money was that it would be built by Sony Ericsson.
If you’d made those bets then you’re right on both counts. Time to cash in.
Sony Ericsson’s Facebook page has a count down until the “announcement” which will happen at 6pm on the 13th.
There was a Superbowl ad for the device but there’s an ad on Sony Ericsson’s YouTube channel that’s 30 seconds longer, it’s the extended version.
Worth pointing out that the device isn’t called the PSP Phone or the PlayStation phone. This is the Xperia Play – part of SE’s premier Xperia range.
