Slow motion: Using ping-pongs and mouse traps to simulate a nuclear explosion

Here’s one for science.

Imagine you needed to do a visual and tactile illustration of how a nuclear reaction works. You’ll need a way to show how the addition of an extra atom can shake things up in an explosive sort of way.

If you’ve got access to a slow motion video camera then you might come up with something like this;

Now that’s what I’d call a successful demo. The chain reaction prinicple is clear to me. I have a question though… what happens if they build a better mouse trap?
