The official launch of TERA should be the 3rd of May 2012. However, if you pre-order the game then you’ll get access to the servers 5 days before everyone else and will be able to reserve the name of your character. If you have a character name, a favourite name, that people always pounce on then this is excellent news.
There will also be special item pre-order bonuses but these will vary from retailer to retailer. It’s expected that the collector’s edition of the game will include a soundtrack, worldmap and art book.
Play.com currently has the collector’s edition for less than £40. It includes 20 unique trading cards, 30 days of fre play, a collector’s t-shirt and the exclusive items are listed as Regal Frostlion Mount, Velik’s Bloodstone Necklace and Shakan’s Bloodstone Necklace.
The first of give closed beta tests start on the 17th of February and continue until the 15th of April. Open beta starts on the 19th.
TERA promises to mix RPG elements with action elements. It’s a game that’s been designed to bring the best of as many styles of roleplaying together as possible. Although much of the PR has been around the action elements in teh game – I like the promise of a good political system the most so far.
