Rick Priestley created Warhammer 40,000 back in 1987. The war game’s 25th birthday party is tomorrow, February the 25th, and Games Workshop are marking the occassion by shipping exclusive swag to their local stores.
The company is predicting this will be the last chance for fans to get their hands on a limited edition Crimson Fists model based on the original art from their famous Rogue Trader book. I’m a little cautious about posting the picture of the mini as Games Workshop’s original page seems now to redirect to their homepage. Are they trying to surpress the image? Dear old Games Workshop do get up to that sort of thing in the name of IP protection but this is a puzzle!
The Crimon Fists model isn’t the only thing shoppers will be able to buy on the 25th. Local hobby centres will be stocked with special mouse mats, branded rubber bracelets, a 25th aniversary pin badge and a poster of the original Rogue Trader artwork.
Games Workshop are encouraging fans to check Facebook for their local store’s page (login needed) in order to find out what’s going on.
