Warhammer has been with me for almost as long as I’ve been gaming. This British born game once took up all my weekends.
I’m hopeful and positive about the treatment Fantasy Flight will give the next generation. They’ll have to do a lot to improve on the Black Industries / Green Ronin turn at the helm.
November the 13th to 15th will see the Emperor’s Decree, a pre-release event, engage a huge list of local gaming stores. It’s a cracking idea. It’ll get the gaming stores onside (and if they don’t stock the book/boxset then it’s not a good start) and it’ll help persuade gaming groups to adopt the game.
Fancy turning up? There’s a long long list of stores holding the event over at Fantasy Flight Games.
Oh? You’re in Britain? Tough luck. No UK stores on the list. In fact as far as I can see there aren’t any Canadian stores either, no Australian stores and nothing from Germany, France, Italy, Spain, etc…
This may simply be because Fantasy Flight couldn’t persuade any non-American gaming stores to take part. I doubt it, though. I’m sure stores across the UK would have leapt at the chance.
Perhaps this was a shipping issue. Doesn’t bode well then. Why can’t we get copies of the game back to its place of birth?
What do you think? Do you run a store and did anyone from FFG contact you?
