The largest retailer in the UK accidentally put the new iPad on their webstore with a price tag of less than £50.
At the time of posting, the super cheap new iPads are still online but a helpful Twitter user has tweeted the supermarket to point out their mistake.
We’ll have to see whether they’ll honour the (likely) hundreds of sales generated in the few manic minutes while the offer went viral. Tesco do have a history of honouring price mistakes – but this discount seems too much a stretch for even the most generous good will offer.
Update: A bit of research suggests that Tesco will not have to honour the sales. A clause the Terms and Conditions says that if they make a mistake in the price they have the chance to re-offer the item to you at the full price. If you’ve bought 10 new iPads, as some people have, that’s your chance to back out of the deal and avoid paying full price.
